Marie Glavin, Principal of Renasissance Resources West, has more than 20 years of success working in both the public and private sector. She has over 15 years working with non-profit organizations in new start-ups, program and organizational development, board relations, board recruitment, financial management, strategic planning and fund development. Marie has extensive experience in planning, directing and leading major organizational development initiatives, and creating innovative and progressive programs and services.
Prior to starting her consulting practice in 2000, Marie served as the director of a large public sector agency. In this capacity, she managed an agency with over 700 employees, an annual budget in excess of $100 million, and oversaw the operations of nine commission/council boards. She is credited for motivating and inspiring her staff by creating the work environment and culture needed to successfully implement new, major business strategies. Marie has a proven track record as a strong leader and strategist able to develop, present, and guide major projects from initiation through to closure. She has consistently demonstrated expertise in leading key organizational change projects and significantly improving overall business performance.
Marie has participated in the design and delivery of numerous management and leadership development programs and seminars. She is certified as an instructor for the Zenger Miller Leadership Program and certified in conducting 360-degree feedback through the Strategic Leadership Development Program developed by Management Research Group (MRG). She is an experienced executive coach and has assisted many managers to address and work through difficult strategic issues and to create effective leadership behavior. She also conducts training at the University of Berkeley Extension where she leads skill-building seminars in leadership development and cultural change strategies.
A recipient of numerous awards, she was named “Outstanding Woman of the Year” for Monterey County in 1998. Marie has been honored by State and local officials, local community-based organizations, and her employees for the many contributions she has made to her work and her community. She is a member of the Monterey Rotary Club, an Alumni Board Member for York School, founding Board Member for the Charitable Council of Monterey County, and member of the Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.
Marie has a graduate degree in Management, with an emphasis in Organization Development from Golden Gate University in San Francisco and an undergraduate degree in Management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga. She also spent three years at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, completing undergraduate course work in Business and Psychology.
